Markman Speaker Management, LLC is led by President & Founder, Steve Markman. A thought leader in the field of speaker placement, Steve has over 30 years of experience in the speaker and conference field. Since founding the firm in 1994, Steve has helped secure speaking engagements for over a thousand leaders from all walks of life and hundreds of companies globally.

Steve has worked with clients in all industries and professions, including executives, consultants, attorneys, authors, and entrepreneurs. He has secured speaking engagements for companies and businesses of all sizes – from start-ups to the Fortune 500, including IBM Global Services, PayPal, Subaru, Bank of America, Hitachi, Perot Systems, Ropes & Gray, Booz, L.E.K. Consulting, and Ogilvy PR Worldwide – as well as dozens of professional services firms.

Prior to launching MSM, Steve directed conference divisions for some of the world’s leading conference organizations, including COMDEX, The Conference Board, and Giga Information Group.

Steve is referenced as a source in the book, Speak Like a CEO and has contributed to chapters in two books, The Expert’s Edge: Become The Go-To Authority That Everybody Turns To and The Speaker’s Edge: The Ultimate Go-To Guide for Locating and Landing Lots of Speaking Gigs. Steve is the author of the article Eight Steps to Obtain Speaking Engagements: High-Impact Opportunities for PR, Marketing and Business Development. He has been featured in Forbes, Authority Magazine and many other publications.

Steve writes and lectures frequently. He has been a guest lecturer at Emerson College and has spoken on the subject of obtaining speaking engagements for numerous organizations, including the CEO Club of Boston, Institute of Management Consultants, Society of Professional Consultants, Business Marketing Association, Boston Bar Association, Legal Marketing Association, Public Relations Society of America, Society for the Advancement of Consulting, and Professional Marketing Forum. He has produced webinars and has appeared as a guest on over two dozen podcasts.

Steve was the founder of the New England chapter of the Professional Marketing Forum and is the former Co-Chair of the Marketing Executives Networking Group (MENG)-Boston Chapter. He is a member of  the Value Member Committee of the New England Society of Association Executives.

Earlier in his career, Steve had roles for management consulting firm Alexander & Alexander as Director of Research and Consultant. He launched his business career as a statistical writer for Forbes magazine. He is a graduate of Herbert H. Lehman College of the City University of New York.
